The project presented on this page is located in a New York City appartment. Above an old bank of Renaissance Palazzo style, the building is now designated historic landmark..
Commissioned by the Mendelson Group, the idea was to create a painted "trompe l'oeil" ( fool the eye ) for the appartment side of the front door.
The inspiration had to be drawn from a number of metal doors, some leading to the vault of the venerable institution located some floors below.
The design had to flow and mesh with the 3 almost square paneled oversized wooden doors to be installed next to the front door.
